E93 335i - mass dist top up & down

FYI, here're my E93 corner weighs as posted on Bimmerfest just now:

TOP DOWN - 4043 lb total

LF RF
927 918

LR RR
1051 1147

TOP UP - 4058 lb total

LF RF
948 952

LR RR
1034 1124

Top down total a smidge less as I drove a bit between top up & top down weighs. Top up w/full tank this morning; top down maybe 1/16th tank less.

Do the numbers surprise? Expected much higher mass to be moved....none the less, I feel a difference in handling performance, top up vs down, no ambient temp change.

Not surprising that you feel a change in handling. You're essentially moving the center of gravity down a solid 1-2ft.

I can tell the difference between half a tank a gas and a full tank. So I guess it just depends how sensitive you are to those type of changes.

Good info though. Thanks for posting!

Great stuff. Now if there was an inexpensive way to shave some weight off that roof with some CF that would be an interesting post test.
