E93 335i - mass dist top up & down
FYI, here're my E93 corner weighs as posted on Bimmerfest just now:
TOP DOWN - 4043 lb total LF RF 927 918 LR RR 1051 1147 TOP UP - 4058 lb total LF RF 948 952 LR RR 1034 1124 Top down total a smidge less as I drove a bit between top up & top down weighs. Top up w/full tank this morning; top down maybe 1/16th tank less. Do the numbers surprise? Expected much higher mass to be moved....none the less, I feel a difference in handling performance, top up vs down, no ambient temp change. |

Not surprising that you feel a change in handling. You're essentially moving the center of gravity down a solid 1-2ft.
I can tell the difference between half a tank a gas and a full tank. So I guess it just depends how sensitive you are to those type of changes. Good info though. Thanks for posting! |

Great stuff. Now if there was an inexpensive way to shave some weight off that roof with some CF that would be an interesting post test.
