Synapse BOV and dust
So I am planning on purchasing an ER chargepipe and BOV. Trying to decide what type of BOV to go with. Either Tial, synapse, or HKS. From research it sounds like all work well on the N54 platform and it all comes down to preference.
One thing I am concerned about, however, is how the Synapse BOV stays slightly open when not under boost. The reason this concerns me is because I live in Arizona where dust can be a problem. I would be afraid that the Synapse BOV may suck in too much unfiltered air filled with dust while under partial acceleration. What do you guys think? Should dust be a concern that should turn me away from the Synapse? Thanks! |

yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I can hear it under partial throttle but I was pretty sure that it was blowing out air, not sucking in.

I always recommend the Tial with any charge pipe. All the big turbo guys I know always end up using Tial parts so thats likely where my bias stems from.

Synapse won some sort of SEMA award when it came out. I think it is supposed to be good for up to 100 psi IIRC. No springs to mess with and I honestly feel like the car revved smoother and "easier" once I installed the Synpase BOV and charge pipe kit. Definitely better throttle response. I do love the sound as well, but that is a personal preference. I have never had the pipe pop off either, like some complain about with their cars and I run 18+ psi.

Check out the AWE blow off valve, it has filters on it to prevent dirt and debris from being sucked in, I got it and I love it!
