Curb Rash
It's my first winter with my 335 and I was having problem with wheel fitment before the first snow last week.
As a result, I hit the curb first time driving on the snow with my all season tires and stock rims. Painful!! I used fine sand paper and painter tape to smooth out the rash a bit and exposed the aluminum alloy. And now, I switched the set off and put on proper winter tires with Beyern mesh rims. My question is, is it ok to leave the stock rim as is, or do you recommend me to have the smoothed out rash area properly fixed and painted. From what I understand, as far as material goes, aluminium alloy do not rust as much as steel. So is it mainly a cosmetic thing to have it painted? Thanks! |

If it was me I'd refinish it, not expensive.
