Import LHD BMW to UK

Has anyone had experience of importing a LHD BMW into the UK? I am referring particularly to the registration requirement for a speedo to be marked in mph. LHDs (330d E91) is km only. Sounds like a big job, or is there a quick way round it?

Why do you want to import, and where from - in the EU? It maybe worth selling and getting a RHD in uk as it should cost you less.
