Smile Vishnu Single Turbo Kit update

Hi guys,
Finally finishing up the fabrication of the single turbo manifold. This is our 3rd manifold design. The first two didn't allow for anything close to equal runner lengths. Nor did they position the turbo close to the block with its weight distributed evenly across the head flanges. But the 3rd time was the charm as met every single requirement. Of course, it's also the most intricate design to build! The bulk of the work is done. All that is left is completing the full welds (currently everything is just tack welded) and adding the final runners. But all the hard work is already done.

And here a pic of where the 4 methanol nozzles will go. Two in each end tank:

Each pair will be controlled by their own Fast Acting Valves. Each of which will be connected to what were formerly the connectors going to the factory boost control solenoids (which are no longer needed). Only now, instead of those Procede outputs driving the boost control solenoids, they will drive the methanol valves independently. Pretty trick

It looks like the rumor of your engine being blown is true.

Looks great and I'm happy to see something happening with single turbo development. Just don't disappoint us all with some lost shipping story or using a fake dyno sheet.

Before I spend more money on upgrades...
1. Will the PWM meth kit work with the single turbo (I would assume so)
2. If I do the upgrade from V2-V3 will this work with the single turbo? (sure why not)

Hey shiv you might want to be careful with how close your exhaust pipes are to the valve cover. According to BMW that will make your ignition coils catch on fire.

The runners aren't as close to the valve cover as they look in the pics. I'm afraid I didn't have the best lighting when i snapped the pics. But the runners will be heat wrapped regardless.

I was being very sarcastic since BMW blamed my downpipes for the reason my ignition coils caught on fire. On second diagnosis when i took everything off this afternoon I found a cracked vent hose and may be the reason why ignition coil 6 was melted even worse than the others. BMW still insisted my downpipes ignited the "thermal polymers because of excessive heat".

Yes, the PWM meth kit is an integral component in the entire system. With the single turbo, we will most likely be adding a second injection valve and two more nozzles (see post #2). Still to be tested of course but I suspect it will be there to stay.

The single turbo will require a Rev3 unit due to the number of outputs required to control two methanol solenoids, 1 boost control solenoid and speed delimiter.

Thanks But's not done yet. But we are finally at the point where we are happy with the design and know that it actually FITS!

Still need to fabricate a new hard line that goes between the block and the water pump. As well as plumb in the wastegate/downpipe. The rest of the stuff is pretty straight-forward fortunately.

I kinda wish it were true. I wouldn't mind having reason to build the engine given how much power this turbo can potentially make (700-800whp).

lol... at the very least I'll try to find a dyno sheet that looks halfway plausible.

Any worries about condensing the methanol in the IC from the inlet end tank?
