DIY: "BMW NAVIGATION PROFESSIONAL" CD/DVD Cover Re-trim
Hello there
After 6 Years of Hard use, Sweaty fingers :/, Baby Milks/Juices My "BMW NAV PROF" Cover started looking really bad and needed to be changed. I got on realoem.com and found the part numbers that I needed for the cover and the Volume/On Off rotary knob and then I placed the order with Tischer (getbmwparts.com) 1. OEM Catalog ROTARY KNOB Price:$18.34 Part#65839216362 http://www.getbmwparts.com/parts/ind...&siteid=214672 2. OEM Catalog COVER Price:$37.28 Part#65836958410 http://www.getbmwparts.com/parts/ind...&siteid=214672 (Pls Note: if you have the SunBlind/SeatHeating/PDC the part# for that cover is 65836958409) The Installation was a brisk. 1.The knob was as easy as Pull Old one out and Push New one back in. 2. The cover, Starting from the left of the start stop push button with a flat head screw driver ply the cover out towards you gently and it will come off/unclip from its secure points, you dont need to remove the cover completely since you have enough gap to work on removing the heating control and the cover below the trim. This was by far the easiest work that I have ever done on the car, it literally took me 5 minutes (or maybe less) to take it apart and snap it back in I hope the pictures do all the talking, if you have any Q's pls ask. P.S The ONLY thing that I am kinda sad about is that the new cover does Not have the little "DVD" log nor the wording "BMW NAVIGATION PROFESSIONAL" Best regards Manolis. Unfortunately I looked and looked and I was unable to find them, bmw gets them Inked/Printed on the cover from the factory I guess. When you say the part number, do you mean the part number for the cover which is provided here?
