Im pretty much set for ED at the end of August.

All I need is my VIN to get my financing and the airline tickets released,

Does anyone know when I can expect to get the VIN ?

You probably won't get your VIN until right before it goes into production, or at least it was that way for me. I'm assuming you're doing the Lufthansa 2 for 1 and have the tickets reserved but not released due to needing the VIN?

I leave on the 20th for my ED and can't wait!! Congrats on your ED date!

love ED more and more every day. Getting deals left and right, an awesome trip coming up and then an awesome car on top of it all. The extra wait is a drag, but well worth it IMO.

I am doing ED in Aug as well (30th). I have not gotten the VIN yet and I don't think we will get it until about 4-6 weeks before we go or shortly before the car goes into production. Do you have a production week yet? I have a production number but don't know the build week.

Yea ED seems great. My wife and I are very excited about the trip and driving around the Austrian and Italian alps. We have traveled to Europe many times but somehow this trip feels like its going to be special.

We are leaving from IAD on the 29th on flight LH415. I think we land around 10:15 on the 30th and are going immediately the the delivery center. Hopefully there before noon.

So who did you order with? I am using Joern at Passport. Ordered the car back in February.

Our itinerary is as follows
30th drive to Seefeld Austria, short and easy for the first day
31st drive via Timmelsjoch to Verona
1st Verona (opera)
2nd and 3rd at Castle Pergine outside Trent, plan to tour Lago di Garda and wineries.
4th Overnight in Rifugio Lagazuoi in the Dolomites
5th Drive Grossglockner to Zell am See
6th return to Munchen, factory tour, drop off car
7th See Munchen
8th Fly home

Sounds Awesome!!

It seemed like an eternity when i put my request in at the beginning of March.
This last week before we leave has been rushing by, believe it or not...and Sunday we finally leave! I've been to Europe before, but the wife hasn't. it's also the first time I get to take a ride on a Euro Train, so a little excited for that.

wow, I think we will be on the same flight. We are going to spend a few days seeing Switzerland and then returing home on the 4th. Trying to see if I can get on a factory tour.

This VIN situation has me a little worried.. If I dont get the VIN by the middle of July that could complicate things as far as financing. They want payment by the end of July. I went through BMW of Sterling.

My car is scheduled for week 30 production, which is the week of July 23rd. Can anyone give some info on when is the earliest I can get the VIN?

Maybe 10 -15 days before it goes into production,it can move a little faster as well.........
