Coding paddle shift - anyone know how to activate it?
Has anyone succeeded in adding paddle shift functionality that can use in "D"?
I retrofit a wheel with paddle shift, but the paddle can use in "DS" only. I have added the 2XA into the VO, but had no successk. Any help appreciated - thanks! |

WHOA.
Few members on here spent a good bit of time with no success, myself included. Please elaborate exactly what you programmed besides modifying VO. Lines of code. Also, do they shift straight out of D or do you have to switch to DS mode first. What MY car do you drive? The paddles are connected straight through the MF buttons for paddles? Or did you wire them manually down into the 2 wire positions in the harness in the steering column? Sorry for all the questions, this is big news! Last edited by yakev724; 12-10-2011 at 01:50 AM.. |

Can you explain how you retrofitted the paddles? Did you follow the DIY and do all the wiring - or did you just attach the wheel and activate through software?

oh ok... sorry, doh. I thought you managed to software-code the paddles without doing all the crazy wiring

did some research and turns out that the paddle wires (terminals 2 + 4 on clock spring connector) run to terminals 35 and 52 in the junction box.
The junction box circuitry involving these terminals changed 03/07, which apparently corresponds to the tested D-shifting cutoff date. I sourced a cheap 05/08 prod. junction box and installed it, but have yet to code it. Maybe adding $2XA to the new box does the trick? |
