Do non DCT paddles fit M performance wheel?

I hear M3 wheel paddle cutout is smaller so it needs to be trimmed to fit non DCT paddles, i wonder what about M performance wheel paddle cut outs? Anyone know?

And what happens if you do not connect your paddles? Does it light up on dashboard??
I dont use the paddles anyways...so I might as well ask
