As nice as Akra products are, these look like 2.5".

they're most likely 2.5" from the pics, but it looks like they're similar to the CP-e downpipes; i.e. larger, bell-mouth opening for the turbo, tapering to 2.5" after a few inches.

Different design (factory flex area) and reasonable price....very nice!

Is this new? I really like the factory style flex pipe. Akra stuff at a reasonable price - very cool!

^Yup. My rear center console vibrates during light accel with my DP/exhaust setup. Flex pipes would allow for some give and prevent such NVH issues.

How much difference does the 3" make over the 2.5" when it will eventually taper down to 2.5" before it meets the mid pipes? I understand the pressure imediately after the wastegates will be less but eventaully it bottlenecks at the tapered section. I know it's been discussed in the past, and 3" pipes have shown more gains, I just don't understand the physics behind this.
*Same goes for intakes and larger chargepipe diameters when the turbo inlets are extremely restrictive to begin with. I'm guessing air would just have to move faster if the pressure is constant.
