Blown factory amp, replace it with something else? *supern00b*
I remember back in the day when I'd look forward to something breaking in my previous cars so I could replace it with something 10x better. I've kept this car 100% stock though. The amp went last night due to water, is there a 'better' direct replacement or should I just get an OEM amp since everything would just be PnP?
Thanks! |

It depends on what system you started out with
If you have the hi fi system yes if you have logic 7 no.
If you have the hi fi system you will need the technic harness and a Jl audio xd 600/6 you would be advised to upgrade the floor and door speakers at the same time as its 3 to 5 times the power. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...> d=1266451970 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447 Nothing is actually a direct replacement but the JL for Hi fi is closest its about the same size it fits in the stock location its a plug in with the technic harness except for the power lines. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780865 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780605 Last edited by ctuna; 12-08-2011 at 12:13 PM.. |

Thats an l7 of its 09 or older
The L7 system has a 9 channel amp and is connected to the head unit via
a fiberoptic cable that uses a proprietary signal format. The L7 system has 13 speakers the other ques are a center speaker in the dash and equalizer controls in the radio or idrive. The newer Hi Fi's have a silver amp 09 and older hi fi's amps are black. The route to replace it is much more difficult . See ms-8 thread. |
