335d Maintenance Schedule

Does anyone have one or know where I can get one? I have always been really paranoid about maintenance but this is my first time having a diesel. For my E46 M3 I usually do oil changes about every 5,000 miles and valve adjustments about every 15,000. I do track the car a lot though so I don't think it's overkill. I just know that the diesels are much different so there must be different things on the maintenance schedule. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Its all based on the computer which itself relies on time or an algorithm for x service. No valve adjustments required as with all modern non-M BMWS.

I understand that but I definitely don't want to wait for the OBC to tell me when to service the car. I never go by manufacturer recommended service intervals. That's why I'm looking for the service schedule for this car so I can basically cut everything in half. So if 15,000 mile oil changes are what is required I will do it about every 7,500 miles. And about the valve adjustments, I'm aware that these cars don't need them I was just mentioning how I do them every 15,000 miles on my M3 just for precaution.

Checked it out. Seems pretty good actually but I can tell some stuff is not accurate, like the valve adjustment which isn't required.

Its been recommended by several BMW Mechs that if you want to keep your car forever, to do 7.5k oil changes (may be extended with oil analysis), 30k ATF, differential and antifreeze flushes, 12-24 month brake fluid and power steering fluid changes.

Just look at the computer and take half the interval displayed for whatever you maintenance you want to perform. Btw oil changes never go to 15k on the diesel. ATF changes are 50k miles under severe use (per ZF). There are no diff changes. The part it cheap to replace when it fails at 150k 200k miles. Th only other thing is powersteering changes. 3yrs perhaps? Coolant is every 2-3 yrs IIRC.

Its not a bad thing. Do you plan on keeping the car forever? if you do, you are on the right path to have a nice classic car in 30 years. If you are going to sell it in a few years, dont worry about it and just drive.

When ever I purchase a car I do it with the intentions of keeping it forever. I buy cars that I absolutely love. My E46 M3 that I purchased five years ago was recently purchased by a fellow forum member and he loved it. He got a PPI and he was told by the Master Technician that he had not seen an E46 M3 with that many miles that was so well taken care of mechanically. I planned on keeping that car forever but priorities changed and I sold it. I kinda regret it because not even two months later I bought another E46 M3 that was track ready. So I guess I should have never sold it but ohh well. Same with my 04 X5 4.4i. I loved it but I sold it not even a year after purchasing it. That I don't regret though as I upgraded to a 2004 4.8is in Estoril Blue. So rare and beautiful. Then my most recent purchase of course was the 335d not even a month ago. I love this car so far! Everything about it. The torque, looks, MPG, and it's so quiet I know this really has nothing to do with this thread but as you can see I love my cars. Next I would love to purchase an E39 M5

I'm with you 100%. Oil changes at half BMW recommended intervals, brake fluid and coolant flushes every year.

My last two cars I have done half the recommended oil changes, and I plan on doing that as well. My d should need its BMW oil change and DEF at about 13k, so ill be doing it around 6.5k

If I take my 2011 335d in to the BMW dealership for an oil change at half intervals and pay out of pocket, at what point will the dealership do a free oil change? If the computer never prompts me for an oil change does the dealership just track your mileage and pick up every other service? Same with coolant and brake fluid changes at half intervals. If I pay out of pocket the dealer may never feel the need to service it because it does not need it.
I plan on keeping this Beast for ever so I want to take care of it. I changed the Mobil 1 Synthetic oil in my Supercharged 2005 Mustang GT every 3k! Now I am supposed to wait 15k between oil changes. I can't do it, even if BMW says its OK.

i have a 08 mustang gt and 03 acura rsx (120k miles boosted), both turbocharged. M1 oil changes at 6-7k miles. Oil analysis by blackstone labs stated the oil could've gone for almost 9k, of course different cars and environments. but 3k oil changes are no longer needed, even with syn blend.


gonna do oil analysis on the 335d and check out how often i should do it.
