looking to purchase
Hi all
Sold the Prado so here we go into the land of BMW, I have a 2008 335 M sport black on black done 37,000km 6 speed manual comming to my shop on Monday for me to check over, can you owners tell me what to look out for, you know things that you only find out with ownership. asking price for this car is $68,000 it is a private sale, what would a dealer offer for this car as a trade in ?. i see a lot for sale are they a hard car to sell ? is this car worth the money. I work on these cars all the time i know them inside out, but you need to live with one to know there silly issues. |

The only thing I can think of pete is does it have the old or new i drive menu. I didn't like the old setup, but that's a picky thing, strange for me I know ;-)
Without knowing the details or spec's and condition i'd say that sounds like a reasonable price |

I think in the e82 platform the MT is more preferred. The demand for MT e92s is much lower hence why some take their time to sell (also the fact theyve been out since 06, so naturally more on the market). 08 M Sport with 37k kms for 68 grand does sound reasonable. If you can negotiate down to low to mid 60 that would be a great deal!

I think 68 is reasonable, but not a bargain...
Dealer would probably offer 60k... especially cause it's a manual it doesn't help the resale value much unfortunately. The 08 will have the old iDrive... if you haven't used iDrive before you'll live with it OK but once you go to the new style of iDrive it'd be hard to go back! |

Look at the screws holding the microfilter are they excessively worn?
a) Remove the microfilter b) check if any of the clips holding the cables running over the engine are broken / damaged under the microfilter housing c) if the clips @ the back of the microfilter housing are broken / damaged If yes to the above then pull the ECU cover and check the wires / plugs etc for tell tail signs of a piggy back tune having been installed. Also check the intake manifold, where the vacuum line nipple is. This is very fragile and easily broken by the $tealership when changing out HPFP's. Most are lazy and will simply glue it back on, which while it does last okay, means next time you fiddle with the vacuum hose it will break again. Evidence of routine oil changes is a must as well, beyond the CBS sevices. HPFP replaced under recall yet? Is vehicle eligible for injectors / had them changed out?
