For an average man with decent set of tools/power tools, no lift, how long should it take to install catless dp's? With the car being stock besides a jb4, only have 91 octane, would be on either map 1 or 5, what would be the apprx whp/tq gain?

Definitely worth the mod.... Not worth the time... It's a pain in the ass... If you can get it Installed for less than $200 pay it!

^ I only make 23/hr at my job, so if it only took me 4 hrs, that would be $100 worth of labor money that i would be saving myself

Give yourself 5 hours the first time. It's not too bad. I actually prefer not using a lift for DP installs - it's more comfortable on your back.

Yea 91 oct is horrid.. And thank you everyone for the info, i will probably do it myself one of these nice warm days. Will it change the stock exhaust note any? I thought about removing the front and rear cats and leaving the rest stock. How would that sound?

Nivedh installed mine a few weeks ago. The sound is the most noticeable on cold starts (see video) and at WOT. Other than the DP's, Tune, and DCI's the car is stock.
Adam FYI (car feels much different after the mod, all in a good way) |

You will have blood rush to your head and get headaches and blured vision occasionally if you stay down there to long on your back. On ramps getting to some of the screws is a bitch especially the midpipes brace you need to loosen up to push the exhaust back for clearance to get the oem dps out. Not fun but can be done. I did it once and will never do it again. I rather pay someone.

Ive been putting off DP install because everyone says its not that easy and takes a lot of time...
Any tips that anyone can help with that will help me doing it in my garage? Without a lift..? What I am asking is if there are any specific steps or areas extremely difficult to reach because your doing it on the floor vs on a lift...Also if any other tools not listed on the DIY that are recommended to make the process easier..?

Ive done the job twice in the last couple of weeks. Still a PIA to do. And yes, I hate those rear support brackets too!
