I had the same issue but I did not have the CIC only the professional radio (VO: 663). I had to add $644 to CAS, NFRM and sg_codieren "MEDIA" module and sg_reset on 2URAD

Can anyone please clear up a question I have?
I have a build date 04/11 328i, no Nav, no Bluetooth, no assist. It does have a working Y cable for my ipod and Sirius. About 6 months ago I was looking to add BT for my Iphone. I was searching a couple of forums for advice. I ran across a post that informed me all I needed to do was add a mic and have the head unit coded. (the HU does have a BT label on it) I bought the mic, cable and connectors needed and installed the mic. Then I had a local coder (Rich) try and code the HU. I'm not sure/forget what codes he used, but he tried many variations to no avail. He could not get the BT to show on the HU. I trust he knows what he's doing because his name is all over all the forums for coding in S FL. Is there a component I'm missing, or is the HU with a mic all I need to use my phone? Any and all input will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Last edited by absinfl; 06-02-2014 at 08:13 PM.. |

So you definitely don't have a combox in your car. Combox is just a unit that controls media playback and has bluetooth functions as well but only the newest cars have it. Older bmw's have TCU or MULF or built in bluetooth in the HU.
You would either need a TCU / MULF in the trunk for bluetooth? Do you have either of these under the carpet in the trunk? You said you saw a bluetooth sign on your HU? |

Did you check out the guide in this forums How To section? It goes through what to do in your exact situation. You have the right HU. So with coding and the few small extra parts you should be able to get it to work no problem.

Since the OP has a HU with built in bluetooth. he can code the car to have bluetooth CALLING with just a bmw mic and bmw BT antenna. A tcu/mulf is used for older car (07,08) for bluetooth calling and usb/aux audio with a non idrive or idrive HU. A combox will give you bluetooth audio streaming and calling i believe on newer cars mostly with the newer CIC idrive system. |

I think I just need someone else local to code the HU or buy the cable and have someone remote code it. |

The HU (2URAD module) can usually only be coded by the ICOM cable and not the D+Kcan cable. If the guy who coded your car before used a D+KCan cable, it would make sense that he was not able to code the HU correctly. When you have someone code your car, just check what cable they are using - it's hard to miss the difference between the two. The Icom cable is much more expensive and that's why most smaller coders can't afford it and the only real thing it helps code is the HU. The rest of the modules can be coded just fine by the D+Kcan cable.
For reference the Icom cable looks like this: D+KAN cable looks like this Icom cable |

I have the exact same problem, I have combox but no bluetooth streaming nor telephone. I coded and the bluetooth menu appeared and also the telephone menu but everything on that telephone menu shows "please wait". Do you mind advising me on what specific options and modules i need to code? |
