Fog lights HIDs malfunctioning
So I bought some HIDs form ddmtuning.........
and after replacing the fog lights with the hids... they turn on and work fine for about 30s - 2minutes and then they just turn off and can't turn them back on.. unless I restart the car.. but I bought the same ones for my audi a month back and they work fine but on my 330i they keep malfunctioning.. Just shitty HIDs or something else I gotta do to stop it from doing this?

What year is your BMW?
These work guaranteed on 08+ http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/bmwhidfoglia.html They have been shown to work on 06 and 07 but is not guaranteed. The reason your generic HID system is not working is cause its not a canbus HID. |

Good luck with 2006 they are a nightmare even with the most expensive highest quality kits. Best advice is to get the car coded or keep swapping kits till it works
I have a couple locals with 06 and 07 models using the HPB kit but its not guaranteed to work but they will work with you if you want to email them. |

People in that thread have had the caps explode on them.... You can go about this 3 ways: 1) Code the PWM duty cycle to 100%. 2) Wire the ballasts to a relay, triggered by the OEM wiring and powered directly from the battery. 3) Build a PWM filter. I would not recommend this because if the solder joints fail, your kit will fail down the road and you could potentially damage the rest of the electrical system. |
