Slime Safety Spair
Now that I'm rocking non-RFT, I'm looking for something to assure I don't get stranded somewhere.
Anyone heard of or used this before: http://www.amazon.com/Slime-70005-Sa...sim_sbs_auto_1 Reviews seem to be pretty positive. I like the picture of the kids with their heads hanging out of the car! I know BMW offers their mobility kit, but I'm not sure I need to spend over $100 for what I'm looking to do, just so I can have a little bag with the BMW symbol on it.... The description on Tire Rack says it could interfere with the TPMS. Is this true of most of these sealants?
I like the Slime system b/c you can use the compressor w/o the sealant too. |

I bought the slime kit. They say its ok for the tpms but I have never used it. Supposedly has an expiration date like all of the others. Tell you one thing tho the pump is handy as fuck. Use it all the time

Even if it does...how much is a tpms sensor in the event that something does happen vs a spare kit or the displeasure of running rft's?

I dont have any problems with the runflats, but I have the Michelin ZP PS2 tires. When I had regular tires, I just carried a plug/pump kit with me when I went on trips.

"From our findings, and after significant dialog with the leading manufacturers of TPMS devices, SLiME Tire Sealant will not damage TPMS devices" ..... Your probably right |

Basically, it may make the TPMS unusable, but won't "break/ruin" it. I'm guessing if you're using the sealant, you'll probably need a new tire shortly anyway and just have the sensor cleaned when the tire is replaced! David1 - I need a simple solution like this in case my wife is driving the car. Anything beyond plug it in and turn it on, in a stress filled situation, would be too much for her... |
