Help with spacers
2 weeks ago i purchased a set of Burger motorsport 15mm spacers for the rear of my car, i noticed one day when overtaking on the freeway that i was getting some wheel wobble over 130km/h so i pulled the wheels off cleaned the hub with a wire brush so everything was nice and flush and re installed them tightened the bolts in a star pattern etc etc everything by the book.
Went back to the freeway to test and there is still some wheel wobble there between 130-140 km/h, can someone help me undertand why only at those speeds? its driving me insane! Is that just a charecteristic of a spacer? From what i understand there should not be ANY wobble even at 200km/h Not sure whether to live with it and stay under those speeds or just take them off, im not entirely sure the dangers that are involved or if im just being too anal about it. Any help would be appreciated! |

I think spacers are usually aluminium which is a softer metal, but wobble is usually wheel balance, or perhaps like you thought, maybe some crud under the spacer

i guess i was wrong its still there over 130km/h Going to get the wheels balanced as the spacers might have amplified a very minor problem that i didnt ever realize was there before the install, idk we'll see what happens.
