Where From: 335i Tuning Parts
Hi all,
I'm having great trouble in finding a decent range of upgrades for the 335i in the UK. The U.S market is saturated with after market tuners for this car however over here it's proving difficult to find parts without shipping from the U.S. If it wasn't for Neil at Juiced Up then Lord only knows where I'd consider finding down pipes and a well priced FMIC (Forge appears only other option). I'm looking for aftermarket sports mufflers (other than the BMW PE @ £1000!) & well matched suspension kits (not coilovers as I want a more moddest drop). Exhausts are thin on the ground, I can name probably 20 brands in The States but only a handful here. I've priced up Koni Yellow's & H&R Sport springs which seem to work well together and this comes in the region of £750-£800 which is virtually the same price as a decent set of big name coilovers such as KW V1 INOX or Bilstein B14's. So, where do you all go to get your parts? |

Suspension kits are relatively hard to find but the Birds B3 conversion is supposed to be well matched for our UK roads.
I bought my Borla cat-back off here second hand for just over £200 which was a bargain and I really like the sound of it. They turn up on ebay every so often and there's actually a brand new Eisenmann system on there at the moment. TBH 3" downpipes and the standard exhaust system with the exhaust flap unplugged sounds really good so you might not want anything louder on a 'vert |

tell me about it..
I really want a Bastuck/Borla exhaust but cant justify £1,200. The problem is the suppliers in the UK tend to be exclusive and therefore dont need to compete on price! To the extent that is cheaper to buy in the States, pay shipping and duty than it is to buy here.. Pisses me off that most of the exhaust suppliers are European anyway! Ho Hum, will have to wait for someone to sell their parts off when they trade in.. |

I currently have Eibach pro sport springs n will be fitting Koni Yellows in a month or so.
Few people have recomended the below as a decent UK supplier: http://www.lkperformance.co.uk/shock...6?carId=211584 |

Thanks for the replies. The Golf Tee when the roof is down does sound nice but I still want louder or rather a more exotic sound which I have heard from some of the U.S video's. I guess I'll try the catless DP's and see what that adds to the mix and go from there but is annoying that the European manufacturers set up over there and not here. Options so far are BMW PE, Milltek (which are always far too reserved) or Remus Quad Pipe which comes in at £700+ for both left & right rear sections but then you need to add in the cost of a £200 diffuser (if you're M-Sport) to accomodate the design. BOO!
Other option is of course custom which can sound beautiful but that has almost £0 resale value when you trade the car and remove the mods. Good shout on LK performance. I see they have Weitec (KW) lowering packages which are decent enough but the kit lowers the front -30mm and the rear -0mm...odd. Otherwise it's the standard KW equal F&R drop (30/30) which we all know is no good for these cars as they sit higher up front as it is and that's what we're after correcting. I see a Pi kit on there, looks decent enough but Pi remind me of the 90's when that's all that was available, I'm unsure of putting something so cheap on an expensive car. I don't think the 135i uses the same mufflers does it or is it a similar? The 335i PE mufflers for the 335i is hugely expensive I guess due to the size and there being two of them, £1000 was a discounted priced lol. I'll check out the U.S side though and see what's what . |

When I had mine, with the golf tee mod, it made the whole house shake when starting up. quickly removed the golf tee mod to keep in with the neighbours |

That example was more so for you to check what the prices are like over in the US. I tried inquiring locally and they wanted $3500 AUD for it But in the end they couldn't get it anyway as it doesn't meet our emission standard! ps. my COBB AP just arrived in time for the weekend woohoo! |

Regal Autosport Bastuck mufflers are £879 inc VAT. A good deal cheaper than RRP BMW PE, about £100 less than Anneka can do also however, I think I'll go for DP's first as I am doing those regardless and I may just be happy with the sound they give.

DPs and golf tee mod is much louder than standard and is a nice noise. But I still want Bastuck Quads - much more exotic sounding! Is the Regal price inc fitting? |

No. But they can accomodate you.
I got a local to do it for £40 but its not as easy as it first appears. Would be very easy to cut too short
