Broken Mounts for Angel Eye bulb
Can anyone show me an image of where the bulbs for the angel eyes (pre-lci e90 bi-xenon) attached? My angel eyes haven't been working and the dealer said that the mounts for the bulbs are broken off, so that there is no way to hold them in place. Thus, still no angel eyes and it's pretty annoying.
I just would like to see an image of the area of attachment to see if there is anything that can be done besides having to purchase a whole new headlight assembly ($$$). I've looked on oem parts sites, but couldn't conclusively determine which part was the broken part in question. Thanks guys. |

I don't have a picture on hand but if you look through the angel eye bulb DIY guides, there should be one there.
How did they break? They are part of the housing so they cannot be replaced. I find it VERY hard to believe they broke. I can see the screw holes being stripped out, but not completely broken. This would be installer error. Installer should be held responsible. You can always fabricate a bracket and either glue or screw it into place. |

I'm 2nd owner and apparently a shop in northern ca (well known for lighting on this forum) were the ones to break the mounts when they installed lights. The original owner 'thought' the bulbs were just out and thats why they weren't working. Who knows if that's the truth, but I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't have taken it back to the shop to fix if he did know they were broken during install there.
I have yet to get down there and look at them myself, but my thoughts were that I could fabricate some type of jimmy-rig mount and permanently screw it on (like your recommendation). I wonder if anyone else has had an issue with this? I figure that if a shop messed this up, it's possible that there's been at least a few similar cases out there... |

Looking at those pics, it seems hard to imagine that the 'mount' is broken. |

Ohh I take that back. I haven't looked inside my housings for a long time. I also made custom rings for my car so I don't use a traditional bulb anymore.
Those brackets you see may have broken. I have a set of euro junkers I can source them for you. I'm not sure if I have both though. But I definitely have 1. Just cover shipping. |
