PROcede 335 vs CTS V edition vs 2003 cobra vs m5
Was wondering...seing as its a competition of penis size at my school on whos car is fastest...how I'd rank against the above stated cars.
I drive a 335i sedan, nonsport, and plan to get a vishnu before the end of the year. My friends drive a Cadillac CTS V edition with intake, exhaust, and chip...claims about 490 - 500hp at the crank. The m5 is a stock 2001 car with 400 to the crank. The cobra has better pulleys for the supercharger, exhaust, and possibly an intake; claims about 415-430 to the crank. If I were to get the vishnu stage 1 kit how would I rank against those kids? My car is AT and the other drivers are MT, yet none of them are Jeff Gordon by any means. The best driver is the CTS, and the rest are pretty horrible. So, taking oppinions....how would a stage 1 fair against those guys? And how would it fair once the v2.0 comes out?

You have no chance against the suped-up CTS-V (IMHO), the cobra will be a handful too, the M5 you have a chance off the line. What kind of neighborhood do you live in... Geez.

IMO, your friend with the CTS is bullshitting you, he's maybe pulling 430-440 at the crank with just those mods. If we're talking stock 335 then CTS > Mustang > M5 > 335 , add the stage 1 and it's more like CTS > 335 > Mustang > M5 but the difference between all 4 is very close.

Listen to matsarge...he's got the C6 'Vette which shares the same engine as the CTS-V (if it's a new one); otherwise, it's the same as the C5 'Vette engine with mods, right?

To the OP: It doesn't sound like he's there now but he can easily mod that thing out of your league regardless of which motor he has. |

I can't help but wonder what school has all these kids with nice cars. If he said "college" I'd be ok with it, possibly. I agree with matsarge's take on it. CTS-V's are fast I've heard, but man are they uuuuuuuugly (my subjective opinion)

i go to cardinal gibbons highschool. private catholic school in ft laudy. everyone has lots of nice cars...especially the dads, ive seen vipers, lambos, SRT10 trucks, ferraris, m6's, etc.
yes, i believe the CTS kid has 490-500 crank hp, his dad owns sound advice....im sure he has more mods then that...hes lookin into supercharging into as well if i do go procede, ill be the third fastest car at school if i can beat the m5 and cobra...the fastest will be the CTS(which the kid might get rid of and get an even more ridicuolous car), then the next fastest is TT 300z...but the kid always has problems with it...he runs about 20 boost and is looking into upgrades to shoot him at 450 to the wheels... i know ill never come close to the CTS or the 300z but i love my car and wont give up the luxury to drive a beater like the z...he puts in engine mods over new seats/interior which is rotting... anyone in the south florida area keep posting or pm me...we should get a 335 group to go on rice patrol sometime anyone think i can pull with a 4dr srt10 truck? or a ford lightning with exhaust?

The CTS-V's are quick, they're good for 4.7 - 4.8 0-60's and low 13's in 1/4 stock. Throw a good cam, heads, headers, and intake on it and you can get them down into the mid 12's. Skip the small stuff, get real nasty and go straight to a S/C on it and you're in the high 11's. You getting good HP/TQ from it but it's still a 3900 lbs. car.

btw matsarge, very very nice garage
i like that you added in a callaway part...you should have gotten a straight callaway kit to begin with...heard them things are BEASTS! but ive read alot of your comments, you are very knowledgable, thanks for your input. And on the CTS i think he does have headers, not sure all the mods he has...all i know is hes got the 490-500 crank...hes crazy rich.

I added about 65HP/60TQ to my Vette for ~2K, that kind of gain for the M3 would have cost me 3X as much or more. For about 6K I can go visit LG Motorsports and come out ready to run with Z06's. I would have had to spend 15K+ just to get the M3 to run with my C6 at stock form. For 15K at Lingenfelter I can come out with a car that's breathing fire. |

He could very well be running that level of HP but if so he's got more mods then he's letting you know about. Get the stage 1 and you'll have a damn quick car that will make him work for any win. |
