question about lease buyout!!!!! please help

is there a rule specifying that if you aren't the person who leased the vehicle, you cannot return it.
i am returning my vehicle early and paying a penalty but i didn't lease teh car, my parents did so just wondering if it is against any policy to not be the leasee and return and pay the penalty.

I don't think they care who physically brings the car in and pays the money, but the original lessee may have to sign some papers. If they can't come you may need power of attorney in order to sign on their behalf.
