Smile F30 n55 pics and visual difference with e9x

Seen yesterday at Montreal Auto Show the F30 335i.

Many differences in the n55 can be seen, like the air filter and chargepipe that runs under the alternator.

The F30 is very nice in person, that was a luxury line model.

Hopefully there aren't significant updates so that the tuning world doesn't have too many difficulties in developing for the n55 platform.

way better - less travel on the
air intake tube.
looks like no need for a scoop anymore-
or maybe...nah... does that pipe go back and forth for air travel?
AHH!!! prob'ly does.

--!! they placed the MAF on the lid not the pipe.
damn- hopefully a short CAI. DAMN MAF!!

DAMN sunken CP-
no room for meth under the hood
unless u kill the AIRFILTER box.

Maybe a cone filter right up front with a relocated MAF:

i like the old design better lol. The f30 exhaust is way better and not just reusing old parts from the n54. Single downpipe to a signle pipe that splits at the end. Maybe i'll just buy one of those later on and modify it to fit my car.

Turbulent air from the engine fan will make that difficult.

We could probably also route where the actual filter box is and toward down the front bumper (brake air duct location) for a real CAI...

considering that CP is the first thing you need to replace when tuning an n55, that is going to make the f30 a lot harder to work with.

Doubt they would, it only seems to be breaking under increased boost, and we all know how BMW feels about that.

I'm liking the front lip - I think. The rear looks kinda busy.

ten bucks says the intake comes up from the bumper as a CAI (stock)

i dont think that intake route travels under itself. i bet the intake comes from underneath through the middle/side of the bumper, runs up into the filter and across into the engine
