Switched to linear stage 2 + fmic Cobb!

What's up guys I been ruining stage + fmic with st mapping and thought it was great but been getting this oscillation possed me off.It felt like the power would fall off a bit up top and couldn't deal with the touchy throttle (bad in the rain ) . I decided to flash the linear map in and the car feels faster and smoother now! It feels more refined then the st . Did you guys feel the same thing ? Last the map on the ap says aggressive stage 2 + fmic without the linear written ,this is the linear map right ? Thanks

I've never had the choppiness that some people had with stock throttle, i tried linear but it didn't feel ANYWHERE near as good. My tires liked linear better though

Funny I felt the opposite ! I like the linear feel better the more throttle you give it ,the harder it pulls .It feels like a cable throttle rather then electronic .

I went back and re-read your original post, i think you're running the stock throttle map. IIRC, it should say "linear" in the map name. Its been forever since i've looked at the map list though.

No, linear says nothing, stock says "ST".

I just tried mine out today. I originally started with linear, but it felt...slow. I mean I know you just have to get on it harder, I get the concept, but it's just a psychological thing. I switched to ST and it felt much more like what I'm used to. Unfortunately it is raining, so I couldn't really compare.

That being said, not to hijack this thread...but is it normal (at least for automatics) for it to "clunk" when you shift into reverse after switching maps before driving a little? It did this to me after I switched to ST, and scared the crap out of me - thought I blew something again (I've blown an LSD before, so I hate feeling any strange things in the transmission). I took it out calmly and did some manual shifting and it felt fine. After I brought it home, shifting into reverse was fine, too. Did some searches on here, found a few posts saying it was normal.

The clunk in reverse after switching maps happens to me every time. I just try to avoid parking in such a way that i have to use reverse after swicthing maps.

the ST maps have a bit of oscillation down low, but nothing terrible. It's fun around town but linear allows for better control of the throttle, but YMMV.

The linear maps is superb when compared to the st .St feels great part and half throttle and the it falls off wot after 6k.The linear keeps pulling all the way till redline !Funny thing I noticed ,is that my exhaust sounded louder with the linear map.

Thats funny because I've never seen a stock turbod n54 making more power at redline even with meth. It always tapers off around 6k...

I agree that the ST maps are fun for an occasional joyride, but I am partial to the linear maps. I love the predictability, especially on my snow tires. 60% pedal is 60% throttle, can't go wrong with that. Regardless of what suits your fancy, the pedal to the floor is still WOT on any map.

I am still having boost fluctuations at mid-RPMs with the ST maps though... another reason why I stick with the linear 2+.
