Tire Gurus: What spare to use for e92 335i?
Hey Guys,
I have been searching all day at work but haven't really found anything concrete on a spare tire for e92. Here is the situation: 2007 e92 335i, all 4 tires are NON-RFTs at the moment and I am out of warranty (no SOS). I've been good so far on tires (knock on wood) but am afraid that it will happen any day now... What spare do you recommend to get? Something that i can just throw in trunk when i go on long drives etc... I have searched and found the BavAuto spare kit (which only says e90) and then a bunch of others but I could not tell what is the best and cheapest solution. Any ideas? |

Bump I'm looking too...
http://www.bavauto.com/fland.asp?part=E90+SPARE+KIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-3-Series...ht_2923wt_1139 I read some threads on this but I still didn't get it. I think ^ that's the only solution but does it mess with the rear of the car?

The BavAuto E90 kit perfectly fits the e92, both front and rear. Here's mt trunk set up.

@Pete84
Thanks for sharing the setup. I am about to go this route and still wondering how to keep the spare tire from moving around inside the trunk. Your photo was a great help! Newbie question to you about this setup. On the tire cover and the red strap around the tire, where did you get them? Thanks, Gus |

I did the same set up as Pete84 except I used one of the RFTs they removed and bought a cheap wheel for 90 bucks from tirerack.com. Then if I ever get a flat (knock on wood), I have a full size. It does reduce my trunk space quite a bit though. That's my only complaint.

Hey guys what about running a 17" spare from a e46? Diameter is right and would take up the least amount of space in the trunk. Anyone see if it fits over the calipers?
