It depends on which model BMW you have (base, sport), but 18's and 19's are good upgrades for the E9x's. However you use your BMW, whether it may be for track or daily driving, you should get tires according to your driving habits.

What type of enviroment do you live in? Lot's of rain, snow, or the desert? Are you wanting to go for performance or economy? Do you plan on having 1 set of wheels, or multiple for different conditions? Do you need runflats or do you not care about having a spare tire without runflats?
As you can see, lots of information is needed. There is no simple, get this tire and you will be happy.
