Engine hesitates to crank on cold start

I have a March 07 production E90 335i with 2,000 miles. I have noticed the during the past 2 weeks that when I press the start button in the morning the engine takes a while to crank or turn over. It happens when I leave it parked for 12hrs or more, it takes it a good 5 to 7 seconds to finally start. Once it starts everything seems ok. If the engine has not sat for more than 4hrs then it cranks immediately. Weather is warm ~80F so it just seems strange. Anyone else noticed anything like this?

fuel pump? similar symptoms as mine, but not temperature or time dependent

I hope and pray it is not a fuel pump issue, I don't want to be driving a 325i for 2 months.
