2D59 Code? Running JB4
Can someone decipher what the 2D59 code is? I was driving some backroads today pretty spirited but nothing crazy (never went above 60mph) and, all of a sudden, at a curve the car went into limp mode w/DSC failures and bad jerkiness. Restarted the car and the warnings went away but the code's still there. Thoughts on what could be wrong?
Tried searching but most of the discussion was around the AP w/not much answers. JB4, catless dp, dci, coilovers |

Found this on another forum: "2D59 DME digital motor electronics, internal failure: control actual torque"
Here is a thread from this forum on that same issue: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=554142 Not much help, but it's a start. Doesn't seem that many people encounter that code. |

Yeh, I saw that thread when I searched but didn't see much to help. It hasn't replicated itself in driving ~100 mi today, so idk. Oil temps were not high when the code was set off and I didn't exceed 4.5K rpm at any time (AT trans).
I'm under CPO and will take out the JB4 if I need to take it in, but I have catless DPs, so I wanted to figure out what's wrong before taking it in. I don't want to have to uninstall the DPs if it's something that the warranty will take care of w/o issues w/them pointing to the DPs as being the cause of failure. |

Resurrecting this. I have had this code (2D59) about 2 times over the past 6 months. Once in very hot weather last summer, and once today in about 40 degree weather (and normal oil temps both times). The behavior is the same as the OP. I accelerated to pass someone (probably like 4-4.5K RPMs) and the engine code came up followed by automatic rev oscillation between .5-1.5K RPMs. It kept doing it until I finally shut the car off and turned back on. Now everything is normal. I am FBO running JB4 G5 ISO on top of Dinan Stage 3 (been running this for about 14 months). Terry replied to my inquiry with "some sort of internal torque code, maybe flash related".
Anybody else had this code and if so did a particular change fix this for you? Thanks.... |
