IPOD inegration into 2006 Professional NAV system.

Hi,

Looking at getting a 2006/7 335i with Professional Nav, bluetooth etc.

From what i can gather more than likely they don't have the IPOD cradle in the console.

What options do i have? i have seen the dealer fitted kit about $1200 USD whicj will give a AUX socket and a USB in the center console and allow full control of the IPOD via the idrive.

any other alternatives? i have seen some that allocate the CD slots to certain functions, not a fan.

This car would be for my wife so it is a major issue, if i can't get it, i don't get the car unfortunately.

Thanks all.

Thanks.

I had the BMW one fitted. It has an ipod connection in the glovebox which allows full access to the ipod from the steering wheel buttons and also charges the ipod, so you just put the ipod in and forget it.
The down side is that you can not use a CD changer in conjunction with it.
Cost was about $600 or thereabouts. It worked really well though.
There are some other aftermarket options also. Try European Auto Source in the US. (europeanautosource.com)

I have a E92 2006...also with the iPod connection in the glove Box...works great....the six CD options become iPod options i.e. genre, playlists etc.
Works great with the nav screen shows artist song etc. and all controlled from the steering wheel

Of the aftermarket ones, the Dension 500 looks to be the best from what i can gather. I showed her a you tube video of it in operation, she said it seemed complicated.

Anyone know how much the OEM full kit would cost in Australia?

anyone done it?

Thanks.
