Carbon buildup cleaning Tampa area?

I am wondering if anyone knows of a good place to have my valves cleaned of carbon build up near Tampa?

just curious, how are you sure you need carbon cleaning?

Reason I ask is because dealer tried to charge me 1500 or some bs number like that for it, and I didn't even need it.

Well I am at 55k miles and I feel like my idle could be much smoother.. I have seen other cars carbon build up at 60k miles and it didn't look good.

What exactly is involved in this process of cleaning?

I think that some shops have a blaster that uses ground up walnut shells (an abrasive that will do nothing more than polish metal) that would not cause any damage if it were to escape into the engine. It is much quicker and easier than the method used in that post, but am am 99% sure that we would never gain access to such a machine.

Know you don't have an N52 but I thought this Seafoam concept was interesting...maybe it could help?

haven't tried it yet but may give it a try before an oil change

it won't assist if the build up is too severe. We N54/N55 guys fortunately and unfortunately have direct gasoline injection instead of sequential port injection like you N51/N52/N53 guys.

I'd like to get this done as well, subscribed...

I would call up Lutz Performance to see if they do it or can recommend a place.

I did it on my friends car it was pretty easy with the DIY. Some carburetor cleaner and brake cleaner plus some gun cleaning brushes took couple hours because we let the valves sit in the carburetor cleaner for about 30 min each. That's what the dealer does they just let the valves sit in their own cleaning formula and suck it out and that's it $1500. :

Okay the guys at Win took a look at it and said they can do it no problem. It's a time consuming job but its necessary and worth it. Jim the owner said that for the first couple guys that want it done he will do it for 680. Anyone who wants it just PM me and ill set you up an appointment with him. I'll be getting mine done asap!

Nope not yet. They just opened up there own shop and are still in the process of really getting everything going so that's why im helping them out a little. They were previously just doing part time work on a case by case basis but now they are going full time. They have done all the work on all of my cars and i've never been so happy with the quality of work and price from any other shop.
