Do cars move from VPC to Dealer on Saturday?

I don't know about "VPC to dealer" on Saturday, but if the BMW VPC keeps the same schedule as the Mercedes Benz VPC, the answer is everything shuts down on Saturday. My ship came in on a Saturday and my SL500 had to wait until Monday for both Customs and vehicle prep at the port of LA. But, once Monday morning came around it went through both Customs and VPC within hours and was off to the trucking yard that same day. But, it then had to wait for a full truck before it could hit the road. So, that was the bottleneck for my car. I had to wait until Thursday before the truck departed to my dealer in Salt Lake City. I took delivery of my car on Friday. So, in the end, it took a week from ship to delivery. The trucking company was great, though. We emailed back and forth and they kept me up-to-date on every step. I knew, down to the hour, when my car hit the dealership, which was about 3 a.m. I had to wait for my SR to get to work to process my paperwork. I ended up (finally) seeing my car at noon that Friday!

Maybe (hopefully) things are different with your VPC.

I guess what I am asking is...if the car clears VPC and is released to the trucker...will the trucker drop it off on Saturday???

My car was deivered to the dealer on Saturday. At least that is what they told me. I got the call Sat morning that it will be in that afternoon, and ready for pickup on Monday at any time.

Last time I went to visit my CA, it was Saturday morning at 10-11am. There was a BMW car carrier there (it was a white covered trailer and the side "curtains" were retracted), which revealed a space gray E92. I don't remember what other BMWs were on it other than an E90 - not that it matters. So yes, they do!

I don't know if they all "work" on Saturdays, but it seems extremely common... Anyone know about trucking logistics stuff? :P

Maybe.. but even if it arrives on Saturday they may keep it 'til Monday to ensure they go through the dealer processes (like with TX Coupe). GL!

Thanks for that info. How did you find out which trucking company was transporting your car to the dealership?

Well, at least my dealer in Alhambra said they didn't take any Saturday deliveries. Which sucks if you didn't make the Friday cut.

Why don't you check with your dealer directly though??

even if it gets delivered on a Sat, I think the dealer will keep the car till Monday so they have time to prep it, detail it etc...
