FS: Quaife ATB 3.46 LSD
Selling my Quaife ATB differential with 3.46 gears. Welded diff? No problem, I am selling the entire pumpkin. Plug and play, done - keep your stock unit intact. On an MT car, acceleration is much improved with the shorter final drive. I have installed several diffs in my race and street BMWs and there always seems to be a slight whine on decel, EXCEPT for this unit - absolutley factory quiet. This was installed on my daily driver for 19,376 miles. Never drag raced, never launced. I took it on a road course 2 different times when my track car broke, both times were cut very short due to limp mode issues. In short, this is a very well taken care of unit built by HPAutowerks and properly broken in with redline fluid. Returning my car to stock to sell and is why I'm selling. Sold

so how did you live the 3.46? a lot of people say that it was too short of gears once you are full bolt ons...even though m3 has the same gears

I always ran 275/35 tires in the rear with this diff and traction was not an issue on JB4 map 7. I can imagine stock run flats wouldn't work as well, but that would be true with 3.08 and 400whp.

Its reasonable, not like 4:10s in the M. Search and you'll find the answer, I don't recall.

damn ive been wanting an lsd so bad but cant decide which one i wanna go for...i was actually thinkin about a 2.56 lol going the other way so maybe gain traction in 1st
but decided not to go that route and stay at 3.08, but damn now that this is available...if it was $1000 id pick it up just to try it out lol but for $2300 i have to think about it a little more. it is a good deal though nontheless

you should post this on 1addicts in the FS thread - i have seen several posts over the past few months of people looking for these. 3.46 is hard to come by.

I also have a 3.46 on a manual. Stock motor and tune. It's an excellent upgrade. At 75mph it's 3k RPM and I don't see a problem with a few hundred more RPM on the freeway. I would actually pick this over a 3.08 if I had a choice - it wouldn't even be a hesitation for me. I run stock OD size tires and don't find the gears too short. Also, no noise on mine either and has been one of the best additions to my car. GLWS.
