E92 335i BMW Performance Exhaust Length

I just installed a BMW Performance Exhaust on my 2007 E92 335i and I was wondering if the tips are supposed to be the same length as the stock exhaust tips. They seem an inch or 2 shorter than stock. At first I thought the guy at BMW might've sold me the wrong exhaust, but I read that the E90 exhaust comes with a mid pipe. anyway, this is the part number that was on the invoice #18102208799. Maybe someone can verify that its the correct part.

Okay so according to mod bargain's website it's the correct part number, but I'm still wondering why the exhaust tips are shorter compared to some of the pictures/videos I've seen. Can anyone chime in? Did they redesign it at one point?

The installers need to cut the stock exhaust at a point on the midpipes in order to install the Performance Exhaust. Maybe they cut the stock midpipes an inch or two shorter ? You should get the car on an elevator an inspect the exhaust hangers yourself. Their placement can tell you if it's the midpipes cut short or it's the tailpipes that are too short.

My guess it the stock exhaust got cut too far forwards. Just take a look underneath the car. If you want I can measure my tips (stock exhaust) and you can measure your PE and compare lengths...

As long as it doesn't look bad you're fine. Are the tips behind the rear bumper? Do you have a pic of them installed?

It didn't look bad to me at first, but then I looked at a stock E92 that we have at work and I noticed the stock tip lengths. It does look like its a little behind the bumper, and not protruding out like they should be. I will try to take some pics later today.

i took a look at the mufflers and noticed that the hangers were angled towards the front which made me think that the mufflers could be pulled back a little more. i undid all of the clamps, positioned the mufflers, and tightened them down again and they look a lot better. the lengths are even and the tips are centered in the bumpers. the only thing is that the right tip hangs slightly lower than the left . i guess i'll have to mess around more with the clamps and see if i can get them to even out.
