To those with 335i performance exausts
Hello
I have been running my active autowerke exhaust for about 7 months now. It has a deep growl and sounds great when opened up in high rpms. I have just fallen in love with a different exhaust and want to switch. I love the 335is exhaust and have been told that the performance exhaust is the closest that I can get to buying one. I like the performance one as well. Can anyone with either exhaust or others with advice chime in here? What exhaust has the best throaty, gurgling, deep growl, that screams at high rpms. I really prefer a quality one over just a loud noise, lol. I also plan on getting AR downpipes. Please help me out as I really need the advice. Videos would be awesome too. I appreciate all of your time and help. Also, please keep in mind that I have been doing a lot of research already on the forum, vendor sites, youtube, etc. I really just want more information especially from those who have the setup I want. Thank you Derek |

I have tried both Magnaflow and Vanguard. Went back to stock because it was getting too loud. Then I heard the Performance Exhaust. Really quiet until you get on it. And then it sounds glorious.

The performance exhaust doesn't drone much more then stock.
It has a bit of drone in below freezing temps while the car's very cold. The performance exhaust sounds just like the 335is exhaust except when you really get on it, it's noticeably louder and it definitely pops and gurgles a lot more. |

Thanx super
Would you then say that the performance one is actually nicer then? Also, do you currently run this on your car? |

I thought the 335is had the BMW performance exhaust on it? Didn't think there was any difference from the performance exhaust you can purchase for a 335i.

Just get the performance exhaust. Had mine since last June and still one of my fav mods and my list isn't small. Love the pops and gurgling. Cold starts can be loud, but it mellows out. Might not do much for actual performance, but the sound can't be beat.

I have the BMW Performance Exhaust and I couldn't live without it When you get off the throttle, at any speed or RPM, even when going slowly in the parking lot, it gurgles like you are driving an mean exotic race car Anyone who hears it, loves it.

I have an AT and use mangaflow mufflers. When driven under load, it's good, not great. At cruising speed, it drones and I hate it more and more every day. Drone is subjective but I don't like any. Therefore, I say get PE. I've heard nothing but great things.

BMW PE + AR catless DP's = some rasp. I like the sound but some people will probably find it too raspy. I am told that with vibrant 12" resonators it's rasp free when cats are removed. In relation to the 335is exhaust, my roommate has a 335is with ar dp's and stock mufflers and it doesn't sound as aggressive as with the PE.
Both setups have very low drone levels and whenever my friends get into my car they can't believe how moderate the tone is inside the car when compared to the aggressive growl it has outside.

I would get a pe, since Im in the market for an exhaust system. Im looking for sound, not power.
I wont being getting downpipes until my cpo runs out. So for those of tou with an e92 on stock downpipes, is this pe worth it? I know the e90 is since it also gets rid of thr resonator, but how about on the e92, is the exhaust noticeably louder? |

I had magnaflow exhaust on my mustang and it drones when cruising. I couldn't stand it so I sold the car and joined BMW family.

With DP's it will rasp a fair amount, especially up top and when not fully warmed up. And the PE definitely sounds way more aggressive than the 335is when you get on the throttle. |
