electrical fault nightmare help please
I have a e92. The cigarette ligher plug is blowing fuses. I found the number 8 fuse blown, 20 amp, and replaced it and it blew again. I removed the center console, unplugged the lighter and tested the plug. I have continuity between the positve and ground there so its in the stock wires. The only other thing it could be is if the JB3 uses those wires and it has a short or a connection short. The car recently had the front bumper and right headlight replaced due to someone rubbing them with a tire in a parking lot. I'm trying to figure out if the repair may have damaged the wires. They were working for 3 weeks after. Second posibility is the JB3. Does the JB3 use these wires or are they in the harness. If not, its a stock wire fault which is unlikely but possible. Any ideas? Anything else on this circuit besides the plug? Thanks for your help. I'm out of warranty so its going to cost if I need to get it diagnosed by BMW.
