I gotta ask. How many of you guys are actually running the ASR turbos out there?

There's a couple. But the RB turbos are the more popular for many reasons. Just do some research.

Thanks for the reply. I know the RB turbos and have talked to Rob. I'm wanting to get real feedback from guys running the ASR units. If guys are running these units, why does no one post up ANYTHING on them. On RB's i see dyno's, oil issues, replacements, 1/4mile runs, service etc.. a lot of info. On ASR, i see pretty much nothing.

I know there are a few guys that had issues with them. and yes, i read about the M5 threads.

I just want to hear fromt he guys ACTUALLY running these in their cars.

I don't think you'll find anyone but shiv and oddjob on here to be honest...last i heard is they sold 4-5 units total

That's what I'm trying figure out. Who 'really' has them and who is still waiting for them. I know Georgesmooth I think is still waiting for his refund.

im a little insulted you forgot about me

ASR has done an update to their turbos since they first came out. bigger compressor wheel then the originals one they had, changed to piston style wastegate, cutting the manifold a little differently, and the biggest in my opinion is changing for oil cooled only to oil and water

oo alright and its getting their. i bought another motor last week and the tear down should have started today, but im not expecting to see it for another month or so because their going to port and polish the motor for me, along with installing all the new updates to the turbos, which should be in production in a week or 2

Glad you're getting it back in line...please dyno that ported/polished head and ASR turbos...let us know how it goes

love em but ive never been on a car with RB turbos to compare so idk, but for the videos ive seen i think my turbos are louder. only dyno video i have sucks so bad i didnt even pay for the pulls. the car almost jumped off the lift, not nearly enough air especially since i have a closed style intake, and i think that dyno was out of wack because the car before made as much as a stock car and it was spraying. with all that being said i still made like 430hp.

the asr 135i made like 530+hp 2 years ago with race gas and meth. they also ran the mile at 180mph on pump gas and meth if im not mistaken

ya their giving me the best price and i will because im pretty interested what it will put down. i really would like to install a LSD and ignition coils whiile im at it but im honestly out of money

honestly doesn't feel like they even wanna sell these turbos.

its one thing to not want to update when things aren't complete (which they did when the ASR turbo stuff was a hot topic a couple YEARS ago) but its another not to update folks at all.

i would stay away from ASR , just get the RBs.

i agree i don't understand their business plan. i will say this tho theirs always a bunch of cars at ther shop
