Brake pad sensors

Never changed the pads in a BMW before and assumed there was a sensor in each pad therefore you need to buy 4 new ones.

Seems however its only one sensor per axle from quotes I have been getting, can anyone confirm this?

Confirmed, only 1 sensor per axle so you will need a pair as opposed to 4

Reason I thought there were 4 was, what happens if one side is sticking a bit and thus the pad wears more, if the sensor is on the other side could this not cause an issue?

Yes.

But they are a service aid only, not a substitute for correct testing and maintenance schedules
