Spark plugs
How often are you guys needing to replace spark plugs or recommend replacing spark plugs when running procede, down pipes and intercooler?

I'm curious what is causing the plugs to be toast this quickly? Are they falling out of gap (and can they be re-gapped and re-used)? 10K seems like an awfully short interval for a $12 plug, even with all that extra air being burned.

With it being a 3 prong plug I didn't know about the gap. But my car was feeling a little off and I've put like 5k hard driven miles with those mods. Maybe it's all I'm my head

wtf, everything said here sounds way too early. I have been on my original plugs for 42k miles, half of those with JB4. I plan on changing them at 50k, then at 100k (unless they start causing issues and give me reason to change earlier).

I agree it's way early, my questioning was because when I first installed my procede it kept blowing the spark out due to it needing plugs and had never been changed at 75,000 miles.

Dumb question but a standard spark plug socket will not work on these right?

Just replaced mine this past weekend.
Starting misfiring with COBB 2+ Sport with aggressive driving. Really stunk. Threw Cyl1 misfire and fuel pump probably codes. Car runs perfectly well now except some vibration at idle - may need to reset adaptations. No more codes. Had 30k on my car 15k with a tune. 2 plugs looked terrible - the rest not so bad ... EXCEPT when compared to a new plug, there are no more sharp edges at the end of each spark gap - I guess this is what gets eaten away and the plugs don't work so well. Not sure when to replace again but likely will do it when I start misfiring again or 15-25k - whichever comes first |
