It's easy to do if you have CIC. I am sure there are coders near you.

Unfortunately 2008 E90 is unlikely to have CIC, it probably has CCC which doesn't support DVD playing. Unless your build date is way late in the year.

Only lci cars can play video. Don't buy the DVD.

Excuse me for hijacking the tread and also for the stupid question, does this mean that I can enable DVD playback on my business navigation? Or is this only to enable vim for those who can already play DVD?

If you have a 2009 with cic take out the navi disc and insert a DVD movie. Pull hand brake and turn on car and look for cd and play it in the navi screen. Coding will allow you to play it without handbrake on and whilst driving

I only have one slot as it is the new version, however when I insert a DVD movie it tells me that it is unreadable. If it is of any help, my car is an E90 LCI with business navigation (small screen)

Did anyone with business nav manage to get a DVD movie working? Is there some coding to unlock the playback functionality?

HI all - A small update....

As a test, i burned some MP3 files onto a DVD disk and it still gave me the Undreadable Disk Error - this means that the drive isn't reading any DVD media, irrelevant of the content, I believe that this is just a software limitation since on my spec i have the below:

S481A SPORTSITZE FUER FAHRER/BEIFAHRER Sports seat
S4MGA INTERIEURLEISTEN ALU GLACIERSILBER Int. mouldings aluminium glacier-silver
S507A PARK DISTANCE CONTROL (PDC) Park Distance Control (PDC), rear
S534A KLIMAAUTOMATIK Automatic air conditioning
S540A GESCHWINDIGKEITSREGELUNG Cruise control
S563A LICHTPAKET Light package
S606A NAVIGATIONSSYSTEM BUSINESS Navigation system Business
S612A BMW ASSIST BMW Assist
S615A ERWEITERTE BMW ONLINE INFORMATION Extended BMW Online Information
S616A BMW ONLINE BMW Online
S633A HANDY VORB. BUSINESS/BLUETOOTH-SCH. Preparation, mobile phone, Business
S694A CD-WECHSLER VORBEREITUNG Provisions for BMW 6 CD changer
S698A AREA-CODE 2 Area-Code 2 for DVD
S6AAA BMW TELESERVICES BMW TeleServices
S6ABA STEUERUNG TELESERVICES Control, Teleservices

Note the item in Bold!!

This makes me believe that it is only a software limitation and can be coded. Am i correct in assuming this?
