The straight on view is terrible.

What are they doing to their cars?

Really not liking Lexus' new pinched front fascia. GS has the same look, like a fat hourglass silhouette with a chrome trim.

lexus lost me as a customer with their designs and lack of choices. the evolution of the toyota venza grill continues with the front end of their vehicles.

I feel like I should be able to trim my arm hair, or maybe get a full Floobee haircut if I walk close enough to the front of the F-Sport model.

Japanese cars look like they want nothing to do with the pavement below them. Skinny tires, huge wheel gaps, inward tapers, etc... they just look scared! By comparison, most German cars look like they're trying to eat the asphalt. They try to marry the driver to the road instead of isolating him from it.

To be fair, the RX is primarily a grocery-getting crossover SUV.

I hate how on the 3/4 front view you can see the angle but on the far side it looks straight.

Seriously? You're going to hack on the RX and admit that you own an FX? Pot meet kettle.

The FX handles great? Pure comedy. If you're going to discuss SUV's that "handle", the X5's or Cayenne's are the class leaders.

We used to own an RX and have spent a couple of unfortunate weeks in FX's as rentals. While the RX isn't a performance star it does everything else that matters (ie. cargo capacity, functionality, comfort, luxury, etc) better or as well as everything in the class.

Subjective issues like design appeal are just that, subjective. Personally, I don't think the X5 looks all that good, but it makes up for it in other areas.

The RX isn't going to win any performance challenges, but it is a remarkably capable cross over that offers bullet proof reliability, a luxurious interior & ride and fantastic technology.

Thank goodness the wife didn't get her way when she suggested that she wouldn't mind driving another one.

I'm not liking the new front end treatments on the new Lexi.

Uh, I have no dog in this fight, but the RX is based on the Camry while the FX is based on the 350Z, so yeah, an FX handles a touch better than an RX.

I didn't say that the FX doesn't handle better than the RX, as it clearly does. But that is the only thing it does better than the RX. To criticize the RX in praise of the FX, overall, is laughable. The FX was one of the most disappointing luxury SUV's that I've ever driven. Equally as bad/disappointing as the first gen X3 or GLK.

The FXs that you get as rentals are total strippers. Think base 328i vs 335i M Sport. In your defense, I have driven non-sport pkg FXs (from Enterprise) and they were utter shit. We've got the sport package with 20's and it handles extremely well - and it's not like I've never driven a real sports car. It out-handles every other SUV I've ever driven. You seem just a tad overly sensitive as the only criticism I had of the RX is that it looks like it's terrified of the pavement. The qualities you mentioned in which the RX is better than an FX are the same features that senior citizens love in a Cadillac DTS... and the attributes that matter the least to me... so kudos to you on your reliable, luxurious, high-tech Ambien on wheels.

You need to go drive some other SUV's then as there are several much better handling one's.

And fyi, I did look at one at the dealership before picking up our ML, still was unimpressed.

I could give a shit about the new RX as I already have my SUV's of the moment...and have already stated I dislike the front end as well, but to tout the FX over the RX based on the handling capabilities and ignoring everything else is a joke. If handling is the sole priority when looking for an SUV (why in the world would it ever be?) and it is all that really matters, then the Cayenne or X5 are the only real performers at the moment.
