To RunFlat or not to RunFlat

Need to get new tires for my Fiance's 128 Cabriolet Sport.

She drives about 22k/year. 80 mile daily commute.

Traditionally it's been important to be to keep her on runflats because of the safety factor. It's still weighing very heavy on me, but I'm having a hard time paying the money for 1-series runflats that have UTQG ratings between 140-200 and cost 1300. Non runflats will cost less than half that and have 3 times the wear resistance.

Would everyone put their wives, mothers, or gf's on long drives with non-runflats or stick with OEM?

We all know the benefits of non-runflats so lets not belabor the point. Thanks.

For most of us going to non RFT's is an easy decision. For the significant other it is not as simple. We will gladly trade the convenience for the performance and cost. For them the convenience and safety are probably most important.

Is she handy? Can she change a flat if you get the spare kit and put it in the trunk?

Another option is to make sure she has road side assistance via AAA or her auto insurance provider.

+1. Just to add, also consider how important being on time to her job is. If she gets a flat and has to wait for AAA (vs changing a tire or riding on the runflat), how will that impact her job?
