Talking Strange Find: 1984 Safari Edition (E30) 318i.

Spotted in Falmouth, MA. this is the world's only 1984 318i 'Safari Edition.'

We're not sure how this car was road legal and it's probably for the better that it was scrapped sometime last year. We won't call this sacrilege because the '84 318 wasn't exactly the most desirable E30 and for all we know driving the 'Safari' was an absolute blast albeit a bit tricky to handle with that less than rigid body.

I find it interesting that have an actual cassette tape in it. I suppose there's a low risk of theft with that!

the owner needs to fix the interior, paint, and wheels. If it actually looked like a finished car then it would actually be pretty cool.

In Florida cars are allowed to pass inspection with a wooden bumper. In 2 seperate occaisions I came acoss 2x4 woodn bumpers bolted onto the car just like that 318i too LOL. However, the 318i actually has better "fitment" of the wooden bumper!

Haha. Wow, I can't believe that's even street worthy, with that wooden bumper, no seat belts and no windshield wipers. I can't make out that plate to see which state is on there but it sure must be lax to have that pass inspections...

I guess only in America or in third world countries

I wonder if the owner tagged "can you see me" or someone else?

We'll likely never find out since it was scrapped mid last year.
