335d take a hit...ugh
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being in one of LA's WORST intersections for stupid accidents where people drive like stupid idiots and cause them. Some a$$hole decided to run a red light as I was turning left...he cut around a stopped car and floored it, right towards me. The guy nearly T boned me but amazingly managed to stop in time...then he drove around me and sped off! The Toyota Camry behind me hit my left rear...not hard, maybe 5-8mph, but enough to do way more damage than I had thought. So the guy that hit me technically is at fault, which sucks since i don't really blame him.
Needless to say, my car will be in the shop for a while. The Camry actually hit underneath the bumper support bar. Needs to be put on a jig to straighten the left rear of the car. Rear suspension must come out, interior, etc. UGH! I would be less annoyed if I could replace it with an F30 335d, but I can't. So, fingers crossed the repairs are spot on. I've used this shop for two of my older Saabs, and they do STELLAR work (Final Touch Collision, West Hollywood, CA if anyone needs a recommendation), so I'm not overly worried. Their paintwork is just impeccable. Send happy thoughts to my d.... ![]() |

Sorry to hear about the collision. Glad nobody was seriously injured. I'm sure the D will be resurrected in no time. Kudos to driving and reacting defensively as you could.

Another success for BMW - occupants safe due to good responses and a machine that can do the job :-). Still, the cleanup is never any fun. Good luck!

Yikes! I'll correct you by saying, extremely well built cars are pricey to fix. Ug.....I hope the insurance company covers most of it. =-)
