k40 radar install from dealer
Does anyone have one of these installs? I'm still debating on weather i should get it or not. Even though i work at a dealer, i still haven't seen one in action.
Anyone have pics or video?

k-40 doesnt work. The only one that works is the M-40 Blinder Xtreme

Def just go for the V1 unless you have money out the ass the k40 is not that good the only reason you would get it is if they are illegal in your state. Which they are not

I believe he also wants the k4o for it's laser jam portion (not just radar). The V1 doesn't jam laser, it only detects it. However the k40 jams laser so poorly, you might as well just get the v1.
Like it was mentioned above, the blinder m40 is excellent for laser jamming. Blinder + v1 is way less then a k40, at non discounted prices. |

V1 inexpensive? Not at all. Getting a respective install (as with k40) is probably very expensive. Some people have disintegrated V1 modules around the car with a huge budget.

You cannot use k40 where illegal, because k40 leaks and will be detected from quite far by police.

When it comes to installed systems, the Passport SRX is better than the K40.
I've heard good things about the Blinder... but it's still laser only.

I have the K40 installed in another vehicle and the Passport SRX installed on my 330i. I find the k40 to have slightly better range and fewer false alarms but the SRX is better in my opinion in every other way. (The range difference is probably because the k40 radar module is mounted in my Expedition's grill while the SRX's radar module is mounted behind the front bumper in the 330i)
I'm not sure how it ranks against the Blinder, but the SRX laser diffuser has saved me a few times. The k40 laser diffuser doesn't seem to work. It technically works but in real world applications it fails to diffuse the police laser in my experience. The SRX is pricey but worth it in my opinion. |
