AC Schnitzer 335i Coupe/Sedan -- Higher Performance Package????
So, I just met a nice guy who was driving a totally decked out AC Schnitzer 335i Sedan...20" chrome wheels/Pirelli P-Zero tires (which he mentioned bottom out all the time), aero package, lowering springs, exhaust, and AC Schnitzer decals. He mentioned that he ordered it straight from AC Schnitzer in Germany, and that it's running ~ 550HP and ~ 600 lb.-ft. TQ...huh??????
![]() ![]() He said AC Schnitzer upgraded the turbos (running @ 15psi), LSD, cams and other major engine components to give the car so much HP/TQ. I did a search on here, but only found the AC Schnitzer body kit for the 335i, not the "total high performance package." Does anyone know if this is accurate or is he just blowing some smoke? Although his car sounds great (from the upgraded $4,300 exhaust), we ran together to ~ 80mph from a light and I was ~ 1 CL ahead, which is why I have my doubts about his claims. He said it was b/c it takes so long for his car to warm up and that it's still not that great off the line. I was like, "but you have an LSD, right?" ![]() ![]() He says his car does 0-60mph in 3.3 sec., which I KNOW is absolutely false, and that he dusts M3's, Porsche 911 Turbos, and Lambo Gallardos. ![]() ![]() ![]() Don't get me wrong, his car looked and sounded great, but so many ppl hype up their cars, especially when they make the decision to spend another $20k for a total high performance work-over. ![]() ![]()

AC doesn't have any performance tuning available for the N54 at this moment. AFAIK, of all the major tuners, RDSport is the only that has tuning available for the N54.

0-60 in 3.3? did he have 30 inch wide tires? or an AWD conversion? 0-60 is so traction dependent... there is no way unless he is running some crazy wideness along with his 550hp

550hp from 3 liter turbo is piece of cake. Even 4 cyl 2 liter long sroke Mitsu Evos get pushed beyond that. However, ACS does not sell a kit like this officially, though the guys could put the power to a car. It is easy to lose traction and thus lose the race from lights, but I doubt he having quite 550 hp. If you see him again ask about the mods in drive train, clutch especially, and injectors. Or directly where can you order the package from

Last time I heard, Schnitzer does not have a particular strong R&D program for BMW engines, so I'd call that BS

I'm told by one of the SA here that ACS own a BMW dealership southwest of K-town. They just kicked off a hugh promotion on ACS parts installed by the dealer that won't void the warranty if installed by an ACS tech.
I went through everything ACS has to offer and did not see any engine mods for the N54. That's not to say that its not true but...

I am surprised that he even raced you. Guys that talk that much bullshit usually have some kind of excuse. |

Another funny part I just remembered about my discussion with the guy. When I told him about the $1,300 PROcede, he said, "you should've got these ACS upgrades direct from Germany like I did, except for the $4,300 exhaust (he said it was too expensive and too loud)." I said no thanks, I didn't need my car to look or sound like that; I just wanted it to go faster!
![]() Then, he mentioned the $1,000+ "chip" from AA in Miami. I told him it wasn't a "chip," but rather the XEDE piggyback computer and how Shiv started all of this 335i tuning with the XEDE and then dropped it for another box which he calls the PROcede (so then AA, RD Sport and others picked up the XEDE for 335i tuning). I even mentioned Shiv's upcoming downloadable PROcede v2.0 s/w which should give it another 40+HP and 50+RWTQ! ![]() ![]() I wonder if he really knows what he's got under the hood...totally stock or upgraded, larger turbos, cams, etc.? If I ever see him again, I'll ask him specifically who/where installed all those upgrades to his car? ![]()
