Diesel Partical Filter
Hello!
I did search but found nothing - can someone explain what a particle filter is, how it works, and why it is good? Thanks!

Basically its a filter in the diesel engines exhaust that catches all the black particles/soot a diesel engine makes, so the gas that comes out the back of the car is clear.
It allows the diesels with it to have a straight exhaust tip, instead of one pointing down so the particles/soot dont obstruct the vision of other drivers. It can then cleanly burn off some of the soot under certain driving conditions, but has to be replaced at some stage of the cars life when it is totally full. Benefits are cleaner emissions and a straight exhaust tip Cons are extra price, and having to live in a country with the correct type of diesel to use the filters ( we dont have them here due to our type of diesel )
