Vessel Franconia Departing 6/4 for the East Coast

Ok, I initially started the Integrity thread under the assumption that all East Coast deliveries were done via WW ships. After my VIN didn't show up on the Bill of Lading Number I frantically contacted my CA (after a bit of research of my own) and got confirmation that I'm on the Franconia which is operated by K-Line.

Their website isn't quite as good as WW's (never could figure out a way to search for my car), but here's the info I have just in case you can figure it out.

Vessel: Franconia
Bill of Lading #: HAM107048
Voyage #: 157A
Left Bremerhaven 6/4 (On Schedule)
Website: www.kline.com

This Vessel doesn't look like it goes into NY/NJ ports. Only to Charleston. Looks like from reading through past threads that cars coming through here often go out to the Midwest in addition to known locales (yes, that includes Chicago CrazyBimmer).

There are various ETA's into Charleston as of now:
Per K-Line Schedule (updated 6/6): ETA 6/17
Per Port of Charleston website: ETA 6/14
Per the E-Mail from my CA: 6/18

This ship apparently hauls ass. It only carries about half the cars of the WW ships and offloads in 13 hours compared to around 24 for the WW ships (all of this via my crude research). The last K-Line ship that came in was Western Highway and customers in Texas and Midwest had their cars 4-5 days after the ship docked.:rocks:

Here's hoping to getting some of that luck!

My E93 went to "in transit" at the beginning of June, is going to Houston, and its VIN doesn't show on the WW site. Have to conclude I am on the Franconia too.

Thanks for the great detective work in figuring out our mutual boat!

I think it's reasonably safe to assume that if your VIN isn't showing up on the WW website -> you're most likely on a K-Line ship.

Just FYI: there is another K-Line ship In Transit currently. The Western Highway left Bremerhaven on June 6th and is currently in transit to Charleston. ETA for the Western Highway is 6/21 per the Port of Charleston website and June 19th per the K Line schedule.

I think you should be able to figure out which vessel you are on based on when you were told your car was "In Transit" (or confirm with your CA as I finally did). My car showed In Transit on the 5th of June...so it could have only been on the Franconia since Western Highway hadn't even left yet. I'm assuming that any "In Transit" given up to and including the 6th (since it tends to lag a day or so) would imply you are on the Franconia. Obviously this is just common sense once you know the schedule times. Hope this helps.

Me and my CA don't have the best relationship . . . so I only ask questions if I just have to know. Here, I think I'll just assume I am on the Franconia and be blissfully ignorant of the slightly later boat! (plus, I am pretty sure I was "in transit" by June 5, though I didn't write down the day that happened)

I'm not having any luck tracking Franconia (admittedly I'm not an expert) across the Atlantic. From what I can tell, she doesn't voluntarily send out her signal. If anybody finds her, let us know.

Charleston Port schedule still says 6/14 (hard to believe?). Site says it's updated every 30 minutes so may help closer to arrival time.
http://www.scspa.com/vessel_schedule.asp

K Line Online Schedule seems to only be intermittently updated (last 6/6). I'll keep an eye on that to see if the ETA changes (still 6/17 now):
http://www.kline.com/KAMCarCarrier/Schedules/TACANASKSSA.pdf

I'm just excited the car is going to get here almost a week earlier than I had anticipated with the Integrity.

OHH Yeah

So my SA said my baby is arriving on the 17th. I can only assume that because (A) I have a vin, (B) my car has been listed as in transit on the 800 # since The 5th and (C) My VIN does not list on the WW Integrity, that I am on the Franconia. I am very excited.

Sure hope there are no substantial delays as I am selling my present e46 (http://www.eurowerkz.com/gallery/album04?page=1 ) over the weekend.

I'd bet money you're on the ship. Seems like customers with cars off the K-Line ships have received their cars relatively quickly after the boat docks. Let's just hope that trend continues with us.

Well, the Port of Charleston Vessel Schedule updated today and shows the Franconia arriving the 17th. Digitalink's SA said 17th and the K Line schedule shows 17th.

So I think we can assume our cars will hit on the 17th!:rocks:

That's great news to me since the Integrity wasn't going to arrive until the 23rd...and I'm sure most of you guys would concur.

The 17th is on a Sunday, but I don't think that is going to be a problem after browsing the POC homepage.

Cheers.

Hopefully we'll have them by the 24th at the latest. Keep me posted when your CA calls you for delivery (and I'll do the same).

Cars seem to travel fast after unloading from the K Line ships. Check out the last threads from Franconia and Western Highway's last voyages.

Franconia
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ight=franconia

Western Highway
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...estern+highway

Seem like people are routinely getting there cars in 4-5 days off these ships.
Will the luck continue?
I hope so!

K Line updated their schedule on 6/13 and it still shows Franconia arriving in Charleston on 6/17. Just a few more days until our cars are on US soil.

Did you guys read this info on what happens at the VPC posted in this forum yesterday?

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66743

This was apparently a repost; which I guess makes this a repost of a repost (possibly punishable by death).

of a

Pretty interesting. Sure hope my car doesn't get damaged in transit. This article was from the California VPC but I'm sure operations function in a similar fashion for the east coast. Looks like they only work Monday - Friday. Since our cars are arriving on Sunday (and looks like the port will function on Sunday) they should be offloaded and waiting for the VPC folks on Monday morning (I hope).

If I had to guess, I would bet our cars will make it to Houston and be ready for delivery a week from Monday.

Which kills me, because I'll be out-of-town!!!!
