interior wood trim?

is it real wood or faux wood / plastic? If it's faux wood, can i use plexus to clean it? will it harm the finish?

Typically there is a coating over interior wood trim pieces. I recently detailed an M5 and used Plexus with great luck on the trim and nav screen. It really restored the nav screen, I was very impressed. The anti-static coating is also a bonus to maximize the freshly detailed look.

Is Plexus a scratch remover, or just a cleaner? Does it put on a protective layer, like a sealant?

It's promoted as a plastic polish, cleaner and protectant. It does help with minimizing dust build up with the anti-static properties. I don't believe it's abrasive so it doesn't do a great job on scratches, but it adds great gloss and depth as well as removing smudges, finger prints, etc. from the surface. I see it more as a maintenance product not a restoration product like PlasticX.
