335is Exhaust for e90

Does this currently exist? Or is it possible to fit the e92 'is' exhaust on an e90 (assuming tips stick out a bit longer)?

Does anyone have any pictures of the IS exhaust actually installed on an e90 to see how far the tips stick out? Is it workable aesthetically?

Sorry if this has been played out before...I'm just trying to decide if I should pull the trigger on IS exhaust or PE!

Thanks

Isnt the IS exhaust basically the performance exhaust?

I don't know how much the tips would stick out but looking at this pic it seems theres enough room to shorten them. Passenger side would be real easy, it just the can flap that would be a little less room to work with. Does anyone know if the black tips are removeable?

I've read that they're welded and not removeable w/o cutting. Wondering how strange it would look if no changes were made to the system (just bolted right on)

Also to note, I'm pretty sure the PE tips stick out a bit further than stock, so maybe this would be comparable to the IS exhaust tip length? Just thinking out loud here..

no, it's not....it might look the same, but surely does not sound the same. The IS exhaust is louder

You can have a muffler shop shorten the pipes coming OUT of the muffler to get the tips to line up better.

I thought it was the same muffler but its louder because e90 has a resonator whereas the e92 has the xpipe?

Ya, might give the guys over at LTBMW (or any other comparable shop down here) a call and see if they can work it to fit with a few cuts and welds here and there.

As for IS vs PE, PE is going to be louder than IS. IS still sounds great, although I've only heard with DP's and at parking lot speeds...

wouldn't know that because no one (on the forums) has the IS mufflers on a E90....that I know of

I read a post two days ago that stated they're different part mufflers, somehow.

OK THE PE EXHAUST IS LOUDER THEN THE IS. Its deeper and louder.

If you say otherwise you're wrong.

Clearing that up

Ya, I'm interested to see if anyone can post anything stating the differances (if any) when the IS exhaust is put on an e90 with otherwise stock exhaust system

Reviving this thread because I don't want to start a new one. So, has anyone actually fit an "is" exhaust on an e90? From what I am reading, there will be resonators vs an xpipe like on the e92. But wondering if the resonators can just be cut out to increase sound or leave them?
