Prior Design.. is it worth it??

I've been debating on getting the e92 335i to M3 conversion kit from Prior Design and I dont know if I can justify the cost of it.. But I do want to do something different and somewhat drastic to the car.. what are your thoughts?? Thanks!

I've seen one member who did the same thing but had terrible issues with Prior Design. Maybe you can do some search & I'm sure it's still there somewhere.

But if I were to do the same thing. I'd go for the OEM M3 parts for your convenience. Just save some money on the rear fenders by asking a bodyshop to just flare it out.

So would OEM M3 fenders be a cheaper route?? My uncle owns a body shop so I can get a pretty good discount on labor...

Definitely. Speaking from experience with other cars & upgrades, I can tell you saving the trouble is far better than spending the money.

Actually more expensive but you will be pleased with the outcome rather than aftermarket which will give you lots of headaches due to fitment issues.

Anyway, which ever you choose....I'm excited about your project. I love watching conversion projects...

You want to do "something different" and yet you think about "converting" it into an M3? How's that different?

Convert it into a Camry. It is not that different, in my opinion, but certainly much more drastic.

Ya thats a lot more drastic and Im not really going for the family car look as going from 335 to M3 makes it a more aggressive stance (Prior Design body kit supposedly wider than OEM M3)

And as "something different" meaning 335i to M3 conversion.. Im not saying a lot of people havent done this.. I just dont want to buy the rep m3 side skirts, front fender etc...

its not different to us because we see it on the internet now and again. In terms of seeing one up close, I can't say I've ever seen a conversion up front. It shouldn't be more expensive than going aftermarket in the front & no matter what the rear will cost you because of the welding involved. You don't want to dump a bunch of money into aftermarket and end up with fiberglass parts that don't fit and crack easily. replacement parts won't be cheap if needed whereas m3 parts are readily available.

I have installed the Prior Kit in Germany and have terrible problems with fitment issues. There goes lots of hours into it to make it perfect. If you know a good workshop and he gives you a good price and he knows what to expect then go for it. Otherwise I cannot recommend to install it. If I knew the problems, I would have bought OEM M3 parts, Would have been way cheaper. Also the guy in the U.S who has retrofitted his 335i has terrible fitment issues. I think my car is way even better off.
